Mold Remediation

Containment, removal, and cleanup of mold growth, along with the moisture problem that caused it.

Mold growth on basement drywall being inspected by a technician with a moisture meter

Mold needs only moisture and something to feed on, and most buildings have plenty of both. A slow leak, a wet crawlspace, a flooded basement, or humid air can start growth within a day or two. Left alone, it damages building materials and can trigger allergies, asthma, and other health problems.

We do more than spray and wipe. Premier Environmental Services finds the moisture source, contains the affected area, physically removes the growth, and leaves the structure clean and dry so the mold does not come back.

Signs you have a mold problem

  • A musty, earthy odor that will not go away
  • Visible spotting on walls, ceilings, framing, or belongings
  • Water stains, bubbling paint, or warped drywall
  • Water damage that was not fully dried within 48 hours
  • High humidity, condensation, or a damp crawlspace or basement
  • Allergy or asthma symptoms that improve when you leave the building

Our process

  1. 01

    Inspect

We map moisture with meters and thermal imaging to find the full extent of growth, including what is hidden in walls and cavities.

  2. 02

    Stop the water

The moisture source has to be corrected, whether it is a leak, drainage, or humidity, or the mold will return.

  3. 03

    Contain

Affected areas are sealed off and placed under negative air with HEPA filtration to keep spores from spreading.

  4. 04

    Remove

Contaminated porous materials such as drywall and insulation are removed and bagged. Structural surfaces are cleaned, HEPA-vacuumed, and treated.

  5. 05

    Dry

Dehumidifiers and air movers bring materials back to normal moisture levels.

  6. 06

    Verify

A final visual inspection confirms the work, with optional post-remediation testing by an independent assessor.

Mold Remediation FAQ

Questions we hear most.

01 Can I just clean mold with bleach?

Bleach can lighten mold on hard, non-porous surfaces, but it does not fix mold growing into drywall, wood, or insulation, and it does nothing about the moisture that caused it. Small areas (under about 10 square feet) on hard surfaces can be a do-it-yourself job. Anything larger should be handled professionally.

02 Do I need mold testing?

Not always. Visible mold should be removed no matter what species it is. Testing is useful for hidden mold, for real estate transactions, and to verify the cleanup afterward.

03 Will the mold come back?

Not if the moisture problem is solved. That is why we treat finding and fixing the water source as part of the job, not an afterthought.

04 Is mold remediation covered by insurance?

Mold that results from a sudden, covered water event such as a burst pipe is often covered. Mold from long-term leaks or humidity usually is not. We document everything for your adjuster.
