Asbestos Abatement
Contained, regulation-compliant removal of asbestos insulation, flooring, ceilings, siding, and more.
Asbestos was built into millions of Virginia homes and buildings before the 1980s. Intact, it usually is not a problem. Once it is cracked, sanded, drilled, or torn out during a renovation or after fire or water damage, it can release microscopic fibers that lodge in the lungs and cause serious disease years later.
Premier Environmental Services removes asbestos-containing materials the right way: tested first, fully contained, removed with wet methods, sealed for disposal, and cleared before your space is turned back over to you.

Our process
- 01
Inspect & test
Suspect materials are sampled and lab-tested. We coordinate with independent, licensed inspectors so results are unbiased.
- 02
Plan & notify
We scope the work, explain your options (removal, encapsulation, or enclosure), and handle required notifications before work begins.
- 03
Contain
The work area is sealed with poly sheeting and critical barriers, put under negative air with HEPA filtration, and fitted with a decontamination entry.
- 04
Remove
Materials are kept wet to control fibers, removed carefully, and double-bagged in labeled, sealed containers.
- 05
Clean & clear
Surfaces are HEPA-vacuumed and wet-wiped, then the area passes a visual inspection and air clearance testing before containment comes down.
- 06
Dispose
Waste is transported to an approved landfill with the shipping records you need for your files.

Asbestos Abatement FAQ
Questions we hear most.
01 How do I know if a material contains asbestos?
You cannot tell by looking. A sample has to be analyzed by a lab. If your home or building was built before the 1980s, assume suspect materials contain asbestos until testing says otherwise.
02 Does asbestos always have to be removed?
Not always. Intact material that will not be disturbed can sometimes be left in place, encapsulated, or enclosed. If you are renovating, demolishing, or the material is damaged, removal is usually the right call. We will walk you through the options.
03 Do I need an asbestos inspection before I renovate?
Often, yes. In Virginia, many renovation and demolition permits for buildings built before 1985 require an asbestos inspection first, and it is the safest way to plan any project in an older building.
04 How long does asbestos removal take?
Small residential jobs are often finished in one to two days, including clearance testing. Larger or commercial projects take longer. You will get a timeline with your estimate.
05 Will insurance pay for asbestos removal?
When asbestos is disturbed by a covered loss such as a fire or burst pipe, the abatement is often part of the claim. We document the work for your adjuster.
